Different Types of Tour Operators and their Examples

Tour operators are the organization that helps in the planning and organization of tourism for a particular place. It includes all the basic amenities, which include the stay at a hotel as well as the meals and the traveling part. It all depends on the price accordingly.

There are different types of tour operators, which are categorized into five categories as follows:
  1.        INBOUND TOUR OPERATORS- these tour operators bring tourists into the country as a group or an individual.  They handle everything in the host country and these tours are specifically for no residents.  For example these packages include Tanzania tourism package, etc.
  2.        OUTBOUND TOUR OPERATORS- these operators work within their country and take the travelers to other countries. These tours are destined for international tours for either business or leisure travel.
  3.        DOMESTIC TOUR OPERATOR—these tour operators usually set up some of the holiday packages for people so that people can travel easily across their own country. For example, tour companies in Nairobi Kenya.
  4.        RECEPTIVE TOUR OPERATORS—these provide tours for a business point of view usually. These provide tourism products to tour operators in other markets.
  5.        GROUND TOUR OPERATORS—these operate domestically however these tour operators are different from domestic tour operators as they organize tours for the incoming tourists on behalf of an inbound tour operator. Usually these include the tours to beaches or adventure holidays that are for fun and enjoyment.

So these are the different tour operators which have different functions and work according to their categories and help to ease it.
